THE MOTHER IN LAW SONG ( to the air of galway bay )

If I ever go across the sea to Ireland

It won’t be till the old mother in law passes away

I’ll never forget the way she always nags me

She has a mouth as big as Galway bay

Her face is like a pork chop  - chopped to pieces

Her hair is like a rick of last years hay

Her noise is like a lighthouse in the harbour

Guiding all the sailor’s ship’s to Galway bay

She can lower six pints of good old Arthur Guinness

And walk home without a swing or a sway

If the sea was made of stout instead or salty water

There would never be a drop in Galway bay

On Saturday night she stands outside the local 
                                                                                       D 
The barman says “your drunk you’ll have to go

She doesn’t answer him in good old gealic

But in bad language that the clergy would not know

On her back she has tattooed the map of Ireland

And when she takes a bath every new years day

She rubs the sunlight soap all over claddagh

And lets the suds roll down on Galway bay
