DAYS THAT END IN WHY?

  Each morning I wake up, and tell myself it’s gonna be alright
I struggle to keep my heart in check, my tear drops out of sight.
I can’t waste my life waiting for you? My friends don’t think it’s right.
So, I only cry on special days n holidays, and any day that ends in why?

  In the evening I come home, hoping you will surprise,
but, loneliness opens the door, emptiness waits inside.
   I may manage to hold back the tears, until I turn out the lights.
As the darkness surrounds me, I here myself cry out why?

   Why’d you ever leave me,
knowing that I’d hate being alone?
Why don’t you want me anymore?
   Why won’t you come back home?
Like why have I waited all this time,
hoping you would change your mind?
   So, now,  I only cry 
on special days n holidays,
and any day that ends in why?

   A week or so ago, I saw you in the check out line.
I’ve heard through the grapevine, that soon you’ll be a bride.
 A whirl wind romance. They said, it was love at first sight.
And now I see, you’ve given me, three more days that are gonna end in why?

   Like, why’d you go n fall in love with him?
Leaving me behind.
   Like why did you take all we had, 
and throw away our life
   I’m done crying over you
I’ve already got enough reasons to cry.
   Like Special days, and holidays,
and all the days that end in why?  

  So, from now on, I’m only gonna cry, on the days that end in why?
