He gets up in the morning before the break of dawn
Grabs a bite to eat and puts the coffee on.
Saddles up his horse and gets ready for the day
It's not an easy life but that's the cowboy way.

Herding wild horses or breaking the same
Branding the cattle brought in from the range.8
Spending hours in the saddle with not a bad word to say
It's not glamorous like the movies but it's the cowboy way.

 A cowboy is a unique breed, he's not searching for wealth or fame.
Their all cut from a different cloth, they all think the same.
Spending time in the bunkhouse or riding hard all day,
He's up and gone from dust till dawn, that's the cowboy way.

His life is rough and tumble and he tries to hide his pain.
He won't back down from a fight that would be a sign of shame.
He tips his hat to the ladies as he passes on his way.
