A Simple Song Writer 


 D I'm sitting here in this chair trying to write a  A song,
But all the words that come to mind seem to be all  D wrong.
They say that for good writers the  G words just seem to flow.
For  D people like Kristofferson but  A not for George  D Rowe.

I'm  G just a simple song writer who  D likes to play and sing,
But  A every once in a while a new  G song I'd like to  D bring.
My   G songs are very basic and will  D never become hits,
But  A when I play for all my friends the  G just seem to  D fit.

 D If you want to hear a good song turn on your radi A o,
Sit back and listen to a good old country  D show.
But to all you good old boys, the  G ones that I call friends,
 D Please bear with me cause here I go a D gain.

And I  D hope it reminds you of  A country from way back  D When.
